Be peacemakers instead of fighters

Bible reading: Matthew 5:9

In a nearby school lived a boy named Adrian . He was ten years old and he really liked to play soccer during recess.

Every day, when the recess bell rang, the children would run to the playground with a ball. Adrián always participated in the games because he loved to run and score goals.

But that day the game started differently.

The teams were very excited. Everyone wanted to win.

In the middle of the game, Bruno kicked the ball hard and it went out of bounds.

"That was outside!" Adrian shouted.

"No! I was still inside!" Bruno replied.

Within seconds they started arguing.

"You always cheat!" said one.

"You're the one cheating!" the other replied.

The voices began to rise.

Other children began to take sides.

Some were shouting.

Others were pushing.

The match was turning into a fight .

Adrian felt anger begin to grow in his heart.

I felt like screaming too.

But then he remembered something he had heard in church the previous Sunday.

The teacher had read a verse that said that God blesses peacemakers .

Adrian took a deep breath.

Instead of screaming, he took a few steps back.

He sat for a moment on a bench in the courtyard.

He lowered his head and spoke to God.

—Lord… I feel like getting angry and fighting like everyone else. But help me to do what is right. Help me to bring peace instead of more problems. In Jesus' name, amen.

After praying, her heart calmed down.

He got up and walked towards the children who were still arguing.

"Listen," he said calmly. "It's just a game. We can keep playing if we start the game again."

The children looked at him.

For a moment nobody said anything.

Then one of them said:

—Yes… let's keep playing.

Another child nodded.

The ball returned to the center of the field.

And the game continued.

As he ran after the ball again, Adrián understood something very important:

Arguments escalate when everyone wants to fight, but peace appears when someone decides to stop the discussion.

That day he discovered that being a peacemaker does not mean being weak.

It means having a heart that wants to please God more than winning an argument.

Ask your children what lesson they learned today...

Today's lesson: God wants us to bring peace where others want to fight.

  • Have you ever seen two people arguing?

  • What happens when everyone wants to win the argument?

  • What do you think would happen if someone decided to bring peace?

  • How could you help prevent a fight between friends or siblings?

Disputes often start over small things.

One word.

A game.

A difference of opinion.

But when no one decides to stop, the problem can grow.

Jesus taught something very important: God rejoices with people who bring peace.

A peacemaker is not someone who ignores problems.

A peacemaker is someone who seeks to resolve things with calm, respect, and wisdom.

Over time we learn something beautiful:

Peace builds friendships, but disputes destroy them.

🎯 Today's challenge:

Today he tries to be a peacemaker.

If you see an argument or someone starts fighting, try to respond calmly.

Remember this:

Bringing peace is always better than winning a fight.

Key verse: Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

It's time to pray ...
